Psychologist or Psychiatrist?

What is preferable to know before calling one of these professionals?

The psychologist is a graduate of a Faculty of Psychology, he is professionally accredited by the College of Psychologists in Romania and most of the time in clinics, hospitals or offices you will meet him with the title of Clinical Psychologist – that is, he is a psychologist with additional training in clinical psychology .

The psychiatrist is a graduate of a Faculty of Medicine, specialized in psychiatry and is professionally accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians. You will go home from the psychiatrist with some recommendations and a prescription.

The psychotherapist is accredited to practice a certain type of psychotherapy by the College of Psychologists in Romania, but basically, by training, he can be both a psychologist and a psychiatrist. In Romania, most of the time, you will meet psychotherapists who are trained as psychologists.

The good news is that any of the three can guide you on what to do next and what is the optimal solution for your problem .
