EcoMind

EcoMind (the term does not belong to me, although I admit that I would have liked to, it seems brilliant to me) reflects the connection between people and the environment and refers to all the positive or negative effects that nature has on the human psyche.

Studies show that people who spend more time in nature are happier, less stressed and are generally less likely to report symptoms of depression or anxiety.

We humans are creatures of the mind, we perceive the world and the events around us according to some basic beliefs that over time form a kind of mental map.

In years of human evolution, this mental map gradually began to remove nature and its elements from our minds and thus the idea of benefits obtained from outdoor activities and nature. And now we are trying to reintroduce them and find a place for them in our mental map… probably where we also have beliefs like “a fruit a day helps us maintain our health”, “eat at least once a day eat something green”, “quit smoking”.

Astfel, contactul cu natura ne poate imbogati harta mentala cu noi idei responsabile pentru starea generala de bine si confort:

  • spend at least 30 minutes a day in the open air, preferably in a physical activity: walking or cycling, rollerblading, horse riding or any other outdoor sport;
  • socialize outdoors – choose to carry out these activities together with someone else: child, partner, friend – this way you will maintain your social network and why not enrich it with new contacts;
  • cumpara sau imprumuta un aparat de fotografiat si documenteaza-ti plimbarile capturand imagini din natura, cand esti trist sau fara chef priveste acele fotografii si ajuta-ti mintea sa genereze ganduri pozitive despre acele experiente … te va ajuta sa te simti mai bine;
  • if you are the creative type, replace the camera with the drawing pad or painting canvas; not only will you benefit from a pleasant outdoor experience, but it is very likely that your hobby will turn into a source of additional income.
